What Are They?
Wrinkle reducers (or neuromodulators) are simple injections in the area where you have wrinkles or lines. We use Dysport® and Botox® injections, which are well-researched and provide predictable results.
What to Expect
There is nothing you need to do to prepare for this treatment. The needles used for these injections are quite small, and most patients do not find them painful—a slight stinging sensation, and nothing more. The neuromodulators themselves are not painful.
We’ll begin with a consultation to ensure that you are a candidate for this service and to assess your specific needs and goals. Many patients have questions before their first injection, and we are happy to take the time to explain the process and answer all of your questions.
After Care
It’s important not to rub the injected area for four hours after treatment. No facials, head massages or strenuous exercise for 24 hours. We also recommend no saunas, hot tubs or tanning booths for at least 4 hours.
Is It Safe?
When provided by a properly-trained healthcare provider such as our experienced team at Greenwood Dental Surgery, there are no long-term adverse effects of these injectables. People who are pregnant or breastfeeding, and anyone with a neurological disorder, should not receive neuromodulators.
