Meet the Team at Greenwood Dental Surgery
Get to Know Us
Dr Joshua Vowles, Dentist
Dr Josh took his uni science degree and became a high school math and science teacher. After about five years in that field, he was left craving more fulfilment and challenge and a chance to be his own boss.
Dentistry was not on his radar until a relative who knew he was seeking change suggested that it might be something he’d enjoy. The idea really clicked with Dr Josh! And it turns out he finds genuine enjoyment in the hands-on, mentally stimulating world of dentistry.
Dr Benny Sheriff, Dentist
Dr Benny’s path to dentistry began with an unexpected source of inspiration: the movie Finding Nemo. As a child, she found herself more afraid of the dentist character than the sharks! However, her perspective changed dramatically through her positive dental treatment experiences. Her family dentist’s kind and caring demeanour played a crucial role in shaping her appreciation for dentistry as a health profession.
Mrs Sandra Vowles, Dental Assistant
“I love that every day is different and helping our patients become confident with their smiles.” With a passion for health and wellbeing, Sandra earned a Diploma in Children’s Services and started her Oral Health degree at Curtin University.
Outside the practice, Sandra loves to stay active. She enjoys bushwalking in the hills and taking various walks around WA, kayaking at the fisherman’s market in Guildford, and snorkelling in the summer months at Mettams Pool. Sandra also enjoys spending time with her three children and their dog, Milo.
Here are a few fun facts about her: Sandra hates drinking coffee and always wears her watch, as she likes to know the time. If you’d like to achieve a bright and healthy smile, book an appointment today!
Sadhana Patel, Dental Assistant
“I like dental assisting because I enjoy getting to know our regular patients. It’s fulfilling to help people get out of pain or improve the appearance of their teeth.”
Sadhana has always worked in the health industry, but she used to work as a podiatry assistant. “So I’ve moved from one end of the body to the other!” Sadhana earned Certificate 3 and Certificate 4 in Dental Assisting from DNA Kingston Training in 2010. She has also taken a First Aid course.
One of Sadhana’s most fulfilling parts of her job is making people feel comfortable and at ease. She likes all aspects of being a dental assistant, especially helping with surgical procedures like implants and tooth extractions. She also enjoys being a part of our team. “I really like the people that I work with; it’s a good environment.”
Sienne Marie, Receptionist
After ten years working in HR in the mining industry, Sienne shifted her focus to a role that better suited her family life. She sought a position that was close to home and allowed for flexibility around school hours. With a Certificate IV in Business and additional training in superannuation, taxation, and payroll, Sienne enjoys helping people through her administrative role. “I love getting to know the patients and giving them a warm, friendly welcome before their appointments.”
